This tour is for experienced trail runners and hikers in great shape.

  • Wildlife is often spotted

Trail Details

  • These trails are backcountry wilderness
  • Steep downhill trail with ruts, rocks, cactus, loose dirt on top of solid rock trails
  • Extremely steep uphill trail with ruts, rocks, cactus, loose dirt on top of solid rock trails
  • Terrain dirt trails, rocks, rocky, loose dirt
  • Bathroom with drinking fountain located approximately 1.5-2 miles into the route (If Open)
  • There are NO other bathrooms along this route
  • There is NO other water along this route

Dangerous Conditions

  • These trails are backcountry wilderness which presents wild animals
  • and dangerous conditions without support
  • Steep downhill trail with ruts, rocks, cactus, loose dirt on top of solid rock trail
  • Extremely steep uphill trail with ruts, rocks, cactus, loose dirt on top of solid rock trail
  • Bikes are allowed on all of these trails and can collide with people
  • Rattlesnakes, coyotes and deer are often seen on these trails
  • Cell phones do NOT have service in many areas

Distance

  • Round trip distance is approximately 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 miles (This is only an estimate)

Elevation Changes

  • Elevation gain of approximately 1,000 feet twice, 2,000 foot total
  • Elevation change of approximately 1,000 feet down twice, 2,000 total

Parking

This tour starts and ends in the same place, but there is NO parking at the trailhead.
Metered parking is about 1/2 mile away.

Exclusions From Tours

  • We do NOT bring food or water
  • We do NOT pay for parking (if applicable)
  • We do NOT provide transportation to or from destinations AKA start or finish places
